The photos in this section are of
what was my ex-wife's bedroom, a room that I was never allowed to have any fun
in!
'Nuff said about that !!
All that nonsense has now changed - That room is now my "Game Room", a
room where "enjoyment" is the order of the day and usually the last place I go
(For about an hour), before retiring for the day!
The photos shown are in
chronological order, from when I first thought of taking the photos to present
day!
One day the Payout Board in the
slot machine blew out and took the Motherboard with it, it was quite a process (Time
and $$$), in getting the machine working again! It seems a previous owner had
put a 30 Amp fuse in the "Payout" assembly when it called for a 5 Amp fuse, can you say "B
I G T R O U B
L E"?!
If you look closely, it looks like 2 different slot machines, not so, while I
was waiting on the replacement circuit boards, I changed the reel glass as it
was the wrong one for the machine - I also changed the reel strips as they too
were not the proper ones. The upper glass got changed as well as the one
that was in the machine had
some cosmetic issues. - It is the same machine. The "Belly Glass"
(Bottom) is the only original glass that remains.
The photos of the Bally E-1000 circuit boards
were taken for reference so that when I replaced them the orientation and connections would be
correct as I sure didn't need even more problems!! These photos have been
relocated towards the bottom of the page.
Both my original Bally slot machine (E-1000) and the
Williams GRAND PRiX pinball machine are vintage 1976 machines.
One day, I hope to add a video poker
or multi-game machine to the mix, as long as it too is California legal (25
years old or older), and the cost is not prohibitive!
My July 2010 addition to the game room is one of
a handful of slot machines removed from the MGM Grand Hotel &
Casino shortly before the disastrous fire in November of 1980. The fire killed more than 80 people and
injured more than 700. The machine was subsequently purchased by L.A.
Slots of Redondo Beach, CA. This Bally quarter machine (Like my other
machines), has been converted to accept tokens only, I believe that it, like my other
slot and pinball machine is of 70's vintage, possibly early 1980's. The last 3
slot machine photos
are of my Bally MGM Machine.
On 23 Dec. 2010 I added a 60 'n 1
arcade machine to the room, there are several diff. Pac-Man/Woman games, Donkey
Kong, Galaga, Space Invaders, Dig Dug and a host of other "Old School" games to choose from, 60 in all.
The cabinet is used and in rough shape but it does have a new game board, new 19" LCD monitor and controls. I doubt that I will ever restore the
cabinet and the control panel to "primo" condition but I will
"clean it up" some. This is a game (All of them) that I doubt
that I will master, most of them I have not even tried as these types of games
are "Not my thing", the grandkids, friends and their kids can have a
ball with it, I will stick to the slot machines and pinball, mainly pinball!
10-15-2011 Update:
The arcade game has been sold, it now resides elsewhere!
An afterthought here, other things for the
Gameroom that I would like to find is the "Welcome To Fabulous Las
Vegas" table lamp shown below - The lamp is approx. 23" tall, if you know where they may be found,
please let me know where. The last thing is a early (20's - 40's) MECHANICAL
Mills, Jennings or Watling nickel slot machine, similar to the three shown
in the last row (Same vintage). Note: Only one machine is wanted, those shown
are just examples of what I would like to have, a nickel Mills "War Eagle"
is preferred!

Most of the photos are 1024x768, so you
may have to click on them to view them in their native size, this is dependant
on your browser, monitor and their settings when viewing these photos. If the photos
display smaller than the size intended, they will be distorted with
"jaggies" and should be expanded to view properly!
